Participating in the Sufferings of Christ

Participating in the Sufferings of Christ   1 Peter 4:13 "But rejoice insofar as you participate in the sufferings (pademasin) of Christ, so that when his glory is revealed you may also be glad and rejoice." Pademasin ( παθ ή μασιν ) does not mean the suffering of the cross, but the passion in Christ. Therefore, it means union with the cross. The saint does not bear the cross himself, but dies united with Jesus on the cross. Therefore, by being united with the resurrected Christ, the saint also believes in the resurrection. Believers misunderstand that participating in Christ's suffering is sacrificial service and devotion, but participating in Christ's suffering is fruitful. Preaching the true gospel is participating in suffering. We must become those who preach the death that is united with Jesus' death on the cross, and the present resurrection that is united with Christ's resurrection, and at this time, many persecutions and difficulties come. This is pa...

There are those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans

There are those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans   Revelation 2:14-16  “ But I have a few things against you: You have those there who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, so that they should eat food sacrificed to idols and commit fornication. Even so you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and fight against them with the sword of my mouth. ” Some of the things that are reprehensible are the teaching of Balaam and the teaching of the Nicolaitans, both of which were doctrines that spiritually corrupted God's people within the church. Regarding Balaam's teaching, among the prophets of the Old Testament, the New Testament condemns Balaam as a false prophet. Jude 1:11 "Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, for they have run wild in the error of Balaam for profit, and have perished in the rebellion of Korah." Balaam'...

Seeing that he had faith to be saved

Seeing that he had faith to be saved   Acts 14:8-10  『 In Lystra there was a man sitting who could not use his feet, a cripple from birth who had never walked. He heard Paul speak. But Paul looked intently at him and saw that he had faith to be saved, so he said to him in a loud voice, "Stand upright on your feet." And he got up and started walking. 』 Ekusen ( ἤ κουσεν ) is the aorist tense. When he (the lame man) heard the gospel, he heard the word of ho logos. Athenias is also the aorist tense. Pistin tou sothenai is the faith that is saved in an instant. That is, it is the faith that God saves. God gave the faith to be saved through the faith of the lame man. The faith that the subject of salvation (God) gives and the faith that the object (the lame man) believes are connected. For example, the woman suffering from a bleeding disorder was healed when she touched the hem of Jesus ’  garment, and Jesus said to her,  “ Your faith has saved you. ” The sick pers...

If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven them.

If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven them.   John 20:21-23  『 Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you. When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven them; if you retain anyone's sins, they are retained." 』 Those who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit are called saints. In other words, they are born again of water and the Holy Spirit. Water baptism symbolizes death to sin and death to the world. Therefore, just as God raised Jesus Christ from the dead, he raises saints with the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is important to know exactly whether the saint has received the authority to forgive sins from Christ or is a person who teaches the principles and doctrines of forgiving sins. Mark 2:9-12 "Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, 'Your sins are forgive...

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

The Way, the Truth, and the Life   John 14:6-7 Jesus answered, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; and from now on you know him and have seen him." After finishing his last meal with his disciples, Jesus said that he was leaving this world and going to God. Jesus, who knew well the worries of his disciples, comforted them by saying, "Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me." “ In my Father ’ s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also. ”  This dwelling place refers to the spiritual body (resurrection). It is the clothing of Christ that the reborn wear. Jesus said that his disciples knew the path he was taking because he had been with them for t...

The one who testifies about that light

The one who testifies about that light   John 1:4-5  『 In him was life(zoe)(en auto zoe en), and this life(he zoe) was the light(en to phos) of men(ton andropos). And the light(to phos) shines(painei) in the darkness(en te scotia), but the darkness(he scotia) did not understand(auto u katelraven) 』 ἐν αὐτῷ ζωὴ ἦν, καὶ ἡ ζωὴ ἦν τὸ φῶς τῶν ἀνθρώπων·καὶ τὸ φῶς ἐν τῇ σκοτίᾳ φαίνει, καὶ ἡ σκοτία αὐτὸ οὐ κατέλαβεν. Zoe ( ζω ὴ ) does not have an article, so it refers to the resurrection life that Jesus Christ gives to those who believe in Him, and he zoe ( ἡ   ζω ὴ ) refers to the life of Jesus Christ. En auto zoe en ( ἐ ν   α ὐ τ ῷ   ζω ὴ   ἦ ν ) means, "There was a resurrection life that He shone through." "This life (he zoe) is the light (en to phos) of people (ton andropos)" This life (he zoe) refers to Jesus Christ. En to phos ( ἦ ν   τ ὸ   φ ῶς ) means "by the light." Since there is an article, it refers to a special light, a special person ...

Gethsemane Prayer

Gethsemane Prayer   John 17:11 "I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name (en to onomati su) that you have given me, that they may be one, as we are one." Jesus died on the cross and returned to the original kingdom of God. The disciples are in the world, and they ask to be preserved in the name of the Father.  『 En to onomati su ( ἐ ν   τ ῷ   ὀ ν ό ματ ί   σου ) 』  means to be preserved in the name (ho logos) that you possess. Those who are in Christ, the Word, are being preserved by God the Father. Therefore, the saints become one with God, and the saints become one with each other. This is the theory of the Trinity. John 17:14 "I have given them your word (ton logon su), and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world." Those who live by the word of Ho Logos (those who believe in the cross and the present resurrection) are sep...

I am the resurrection and the life

I am the resurrection and the life   John 11:25-26 "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" When Martha's brother Lazarus died, Martha said that if Jesus had been at her house, he would not have died. In chapter 11, verse 22, Martha answered, "I believe that whatever we ask of God, he will give us." That is why Jesus said, "He will live again," but Martha was thinking of "living again" not as something present, but as a resurrection on the last day in the future after the death of the flesh. What Jesus says to Martha in chapter 11 verses 23-26 is, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he was dead in spirit, will live, and when the spirit lives, he will receive the gift of faith from heaven and never die." If we look at these words from the perspective of the flesh, they mean, ...

Tabitha, arise

Tabitha, arise   Acts 9:40-42 『 But Peter put them all out, knelt down and prayed(Proseussato). And turning to the body he said, 'Tabitha, arise(Anasteti).' She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up. Then he called the saints and widows and presented her alive to them. This became known to all the people of Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. 』 Peter went from Lydda to Joppa, which was nearby. The reason Peter went to Joppa was to raise Tabitha from the dead. Tabitha was a woman who had done many good deeds and charity. When Tabitha died, those who mourned her showed Peter the tunic and outer garments she had made while she was alive. It is said that when Peter came to Joppa, he told Tabitha to get up, and she sat up. Proseusato ( προση ύ ξατο ) means to pray, to entreat. Peter did not go to raise the dead, but because Tabitha died and many people gathered around her and mourned, Peter immediately prayed to ...
